Potpourri

Happy Friday!! Today I have a bit of a mixed bag for you...

Leprechaun Lovelies

This is a craft that I wanted to post about yesterday but it took an extra day to, well... to "develop". When I first saw this over on Yesterday on Tuesday, I knew I HAD to try it!! "Irish" Tulips what fun!!

For this you will need the following:

- White Tulips
- Vase with water
- Green Food Coloring

Add a health dose of food coloring to the water in your vase.

Add the tulips.

And in a couple days they begin to turn green! Perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

(If only my mother had known about this trick. They would have looked smashing with the green orange juice she served at breakfast every St. Pat's morning!)

Creative Randomness

Yes, at our house, potty training has currently become something akin to a game show. We are now pooping for cash and prizes. Oh, what has my life become?! Desperation (and a strong-willed child) will take you places you NEVER thought you'd go!

(What do you think... would a printable poop chart be a big ticket item in the shop?? ...just joking!)

****

Have you seen this??

It's the Dog Bark Inn!! I stumbled across it while searching for pom pom pictures on google images. No idea why it popped up, but I'm in love. How cute is the outhouse??! I ADORE that it's a fire hydrant. Now that's creativity!

Sneak Peek

I have a FABULOUS party I am doing this weekend!! I can't wait to share pics with you. Here's the tiniest peek...

Can you guess the theme?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Heavenly Blooms

We had a some crazy rain this weekend, but in between the drops we decided to go for a walk so as not to go completely stir crazy in the house. The breeze was cool and crisp and the sun only peaked out from behind the clouds every now and again as another wave of rain began to roll in. But, it was perfect weather for stroll and Dashell was excited to get out of the house and run around a bit.

On the other hand, Beckett my 3 month old, was not as excited. (Or maybe it was the fact that I had decided that Elmer Fudd was a good look for him!)

But, needless to say, he was a trooper (or more honestly, he passed out and enjoyed a nap) and we set off to take in the beautiful flowering trees that are just coming into bloom...

And this got me thinking about how fabulous it is when flowers are used in just the right way to punctuate a dessert table.

Or to enhance a theme, like this arrangement for a lollipop inspired party...
(via HWTM)

Or these fabulous tulips for this ladybug table (I love that they are a callback to the ladybug shape as well as adding that perfect pop of color!)...

They can add that one extra special ingredient that just pushes it over the edge...

...from fabulous to heavenly.

Two Parties That Pirouette to Perfection

Have you seen these two fabulous ballerina parties?! They are GORGEOUS!!

The first was created by Amy from Blowout Party! for her little girl...
To die for!!! Right?! So beautiful. And just the perfect shade of pink. And how unbelievably perfect are those curtains?! I was floored when I saw them and had to ask Amy how she did it. The secret... staple gun! Now that's a determined perfectionist!!

And check out these meringues. So creative!!

Make sure to swing over to Amy's amazing blog for more pictures and check her wonderful posts on Design Dazzle as well!

The second ballerina party which I just find divine was created by Glory at Glorious Treats...
I LOVE the pale pink and blue. And how beautifully light and airy is that focal piece mounted from the ceiling?! It feels just right for a ballerina party. (And easy to mount and remove because she ingeniously used 3M Command Hooks!)

The skirts on the chairs are the perfect touch!

And since this was no ordinary ballerina party, it was a snowflake ballerina party, Glory made that the most beautiful cookies I have ever seen!

I hope you found these parties as inspirational as I did!!

Sweethearts and Lemonade

Hi there! Last night life went a little off course. Instead of romance, roses and sweet love notes. I was up to my eyeballs in, well... (to avoid being graphic) the fabulous side-effects of stomach flu. And, from the other child, the result of much relief after 8 days of constipation. *sigh* But I have to say that my husband did come waltzing in, after a late meeting, with flowers, balloons and that charming smile which still gives me butterflies after 19 years. And, it was still wonderful to spend the evening with my two miracle children, who I love so much it hurts, no matter what state of chaos they were in.

Needless to say, between the mopping, washing, and disinfecting I didn't have time to pull together the hinted at give away. But, tune in tomorrow, because I'll be ready by then!

In the meantime, you should take a few moments to hop over and check out the fabulous Zzzebra 33rd Birthday Slumber Party that my amazingly talented friend Alex of Enchanted Events and Designs hosted a couple weeks ago and I had the privilege of attending (although my 11 week old made it impossible to spend the night. Total bummer!) Alex completely out did herself!! No detail was overlooked. It was not only FUN with capital "F" but chock full of FABULOUS eye candy!!

Be sure to swing by Alex's blog for more fantastic photos!!

I love flowers!! Don't you?! These are so easy to make. And... can I say it? Adorable!

Here's what you'll need:

- Scrapbook or construction paper
- Heart punch or scissors
- Floral plant stakes
- Hot glue (yes, I'm in love with my hot glue!!)

Optional items:
- Flower pot
- Styrofoam
- Moss

1. Punch or cut several hearts of identical size

2. Wrap one heart around your finger to curl it

3. Add a dab of glue to the inside/bottom area of the heart and adhere to your stake

4. Continue to curl hearts, dab glue and add them to your stake in concentric circles
Until you have filled out your rose...

5. Wedge your styrofoam into your pot and glue the moss over the styrofoam to cover it.

6. Arrange your roses and add a coordinating ribbon

And there you have it... a lovely little Paper Heart Rose Bouquet!
